Comment | With Richard Thompson on guitar throughout & Linda Thompson (nee Peters) on backing vocals on some songs. This show is generally attributed as 05/08/72, and in the db as such. That is wrong. 1) An American friend was at the concert and he didn't arrive in the UK from the USA till after May, indeed not until mid-summer, and 2) Richard & Linda only began playing live together from June 1972. The original date would have been written by the UK bootlegger. UK dating convention is dd/mm/yyyy, so in the UK 05/08/72 means 5th August 1972. Also, on stage, Sandy refers to it being Saturday night. 8th May was a Monday, 5th August was a Saturday. |
