Comment"BACK TO THE EGG" TV SPECIAL 1979

In late may, WINGS travelled to Lympne with RAK mobile studio to do some recordings and to shoot videos with Keef & Co. for a long-form video special that would feature much of the forthcoming "Back To The Egg". In all, seven promos were shot for the half-hour program. Shooting was scheduled to begin on Monday, May 28th with Denny's "Again and again and again", in a local field, but due to rain "Old siam sir" was shot instead, in the hall of the castle. The next day, the "Getting closer" and "Spin it on" performance sequences were filmed in a small private airfield a mile from the castle, while "Again and again and again" was succesfully shot this afternoon thanks to drier conditions. On the 30th "Winter rose" and "Love awake" were filmed; the band then took a shooting break for a day, with a location shift to Camber Sands on the friday June 1st to film "Baby's request". The following wednesday, June 6th, the basic shooting was completed with the filming of "Arrow through me". With the addition of undocumented shoots for parts of "Getting closer" and the opening and closing of the special (wich employed the album cover graphics and background), filming was complete.

Once overdubbing of the foley work onto the individual tracks took place, the films were all slated as being completed on June 11th.

The program as a whole was syndicated in the US on WTBS, while in the UK airing came two years after the LP's release, when BBC screened it on 10th June 1981

"Goodnight Tonight" video was taped in London on 3rd of April 1979
