Quality is below average, but it's a noteworthy show for a few reasons: this is the only actual show they did in 1988; at the time, it was the largest venue they'd ever played; four songs from "Don't Tell a Soul, " which wouldn't be released for another couple of months, were premiered ("Darlin' One" had already been played many times on the previous tour); and they got to open for Keith Richards on the day before his birthday. They even sing "Happy Birthday" to him, although he might not have even been in the building at the time. It was a one-off opening slot -- they didn't open any other shows for him. Assumedly they got hooked up to this through Steve Jordan, Keith's drummer/bassist/co-writer/co-producer, whom they'd wanted to produce "Don't Tell a Soul." Performance-wise, it's a great show. Of the dozens of times I was lucky enough to see them, this one's in the top five. Please don't distribute this in lossy formats or try to make a buck off of it. Thanks to the original taper, whomever he or she might be! Taped by: Unknown Uploaded by: feinleib |
