Comment | Homeogryllus Japonicus, the nomenclature of bell cricket, has been affectionately known in Japan since Heian period. This little summer insect appeared on the several scenes of Japanese old novels such as Tale of Genji and Manyo-shu due to its subtle and beautiful singing. the performance/installation entitled Homogryllus Japonicus Orchestra (conducted by Great YEar soundings) catabolizes this Suzumushi's singing through amplifying and mixing. At the performance, Mamoru FUJIEDA, known for prantron, the installation using botanic pulse, and Keiji HAINO, a modern-day shaman, will also make an appearance. Relax and expose yourself to the world of Suzumushi's microcosmos on a beautiful summer evening |
