Comment | Marquee Club, London UK
Autumn 1964 The Who had their humble beginning playing the clubs of London. The origin of this show is not exactly known. Some say it's the Marquee Club while others insist it is the recording Chris Stamp made at the Railway Club. At any rate, it is a really cool show showing the origins of the band. Young Man Blues sounds like the original Mose Alison version and many of these songs have been played in subsequent tours. Definitely worth a listen. Set List : Dance To Keep From Crying, You Really Got Me, Young Man Blues, Green Onions, Improvisation, Long Tall Shorty, Pretty Thing, Smokestack Lightning, Money, Here 'Tis This is a soundboard recording taken from the boot 'Who Remembers the High Numbers'. The sound is a bit rough but acceptable given the age and rarity of the show. |
