Notes:
All edits were made in Audacity (v.1.2.3), a stable and simple sound editor. I used the Oade source as the primary source because it is sonically superior to other sources currently circulating. To more closely match the primary source, edits to the patch source included switching left and right stereo channels, adjusting speed/pitch (most patches were increased by 2.8%), and reducing wave amplitude in most sections by -1.8 db. I employed fade in/out filters for most between-source transitions. All fades were 1 sec. or less in duration to limit cross-pattern distortion (due to the limits of the software and its operator) yet reduce abrubt changes in sound quality. Several cut crowd segments could not be rectified between the two sources. In these situations, I took a 'best guess' approach for the likely sequence of crowd segments. Analog hiss is present throughout the patched sections, most audibly in crowd/tuning segments and some low-level sections of songs. As with the Oade source, the patched source has short periods of low-level FM static, occasional analog warbles, and short-duration partial channel drop-outs. Noise removal techniques (and high-end software) that preserve material high frequencies (e.g., cymbals) are beyond my technical abilities/budget, so I chose to leave the source as received. As all previous sources of this show had tracks divided differently between two discs, I chose to avoid assigning tracks to discs altogether. All tracks were cut as close as reasonable to the beginning of each song. SBEs checked and fixed using TLH. Edited and first seeded to bt.etree 7/05 by Giancarlo [gcsadoti(at)yahoo(dot)com].
