Source Info | SBD + AUD Matrix Mix (50%-SBD/50%-AUD) |
Tech Note | --------------------------------------------------------- Source Info SBD SBD (24 Track Recording Mix) > Dat (44.1k) > DAT (Sony D8) > RME Hammerfall Digiface > Sony Vaio C1VP > Samplitude v7.02 Professional > SHN AUD (FOB Drink Rail) Neumann U89 (cardiod setting) > Apogee AD-1000 @ 44.1 > P1 > My DAT > M-Audio 24/96 > Wave --------------------------------------------------------- Source Info Philler SBD SBD > DAT AUD FOB > Schoeps Mk4 (ortf) > Sonosax > DAT > My DAT > M-Audio 24/96 > wave > SF 48k to 44k conversion > Wave --------------------------------------------------------- Tech Notes SHNs were decoded to wave and SF 6.0 was used to reassemble the tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align & synch both of the sources. This is a 50% SBD, 50% AUD mix. DTS was used to encode to DTS. - Mixed by dan@am-dig.com - SHN conversion 08-JAN-2005 - Artwork by dan@am-dig.com 300dpi - For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper. Design for use with a clear slim double jewel case. - Additional 4 CD artwork is also included (see notes below). You will need a traditional double wide quad case. Replace black snap-in inserts with clear snap-in inserts. - Artwork includes portions from an unidentified author. --------------------------------------------------------- Notes Please note that the AUD source for 4/17 is different than the previous 2 nights. Still at the front drink rail and still an excellent recording. d2t01 The AUD source was run extremely hot during "Terrapin Station" and may suffer very mild distortion. However, this is extremely watered down when mixed with the SBD. This is most likely undetectable. D2 and D3 can be assembled seamlessly on longer media. d3t01 SBD missing 0:01:41.067 crowd cheer btwn last song and "Donor Rap". The AUD was trimmed to match and both sources were crossfaded to make this transitions as smooth as possible. This is most likely undetectable. d3t04 & 03:16 of d3t05 (Intro & 03:16 of Chalkdust) Philler source SBD > DAT mixed with FM > DAT. Then switches to SBD > DAT mixed with FOB > Schoeps Mk4 for the remaining. FYI The Phish 8-16-96 philler comprises the entire 1st disc of the DTS & Matrix of that show. Special thanks to Charlie Miller for the amazing SBD source and Gary Fox for the AUD source. Both of these DATs, being so close to the masters, were in pristine condition. Not a drop, zap, sizzle or hiccup to be found anywhere on either source. A very rare occurrence. --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from .shn files. --------------------------------------------------------- More Info On The SBD Recording Info: SBD (24 Track Recording Mix) -> Master Dat (44.1k) Transfer Info: Dat (Sony D8) > RME Hammerfall Digiface > Sony Vaio C1VP > Samplitude v7.02 Professional > SHN (4 CD Audio / 2 SHN) Transfered and Edited By Charlie Miller charliemiller87@earthlink.net 6/30/04 Notes: -- All disc changes are seamless |
