His idea was to bring Clapton back into the public arena and, he hoped, give him the incentive to kick the drug habit. The event was part of 'Fanfare For Europe', celebrating Britain's entry into the Common Market. There were two shows, 6.30 and 8.30 pm, and both were recorded by the Ronnie Lane mobile studio. The band was billed as The Palpitations.
