Note | JEFF BUCKLEY
February 9, 1997 New York City Arlene's Grocery ~"ARE YOU BOOTLEGGING MY SHOW, MAN?"~ Traded for this cdr circa 2000 and it has been gathering dust on the shelf until now. Excellent audience recording of the complete show. The original CDR had only 7 cue stops, which may give some of you a clue as to its source. The tracks were merged into one long .wav file and more convenient chapter stops added so you can quickly index to a particular comment between songs or start exactly on the beginning of each song. Lots of talking and jokes between songs, Jeff says some really funny stuff, see the included transcript for all of his comments. Track 15 is actually "Moisture" by The Residents, an incredibly obscure cover. Have never seen this listed correctly in the setlist for this show. Parker Kindred debuted as Jeff's new drummer and made his only public performance with the band there on February 9th, 1997. Arlene Grocery is also significant because a bootlegged recording exists of this show. Some of the songs that are featured on Sketches, such as "Witches' Rave" and "The Sky is a Landfill," were performed at this show. |
