Tech Note | ----------------- http://www.collectiveunconscious.org/02world0523.html ----------------- Source: Mini Disc --- Core Sound Cardioids > Sharp MT88 Taper: Wim Gen: 1st from Master MP3 Sample: Right click & save Notes: An absolutely amazing recording for a Mini Disc source. The sound & (overall) professionalism Wim generates with his recordings is a stand-out among tapers. If you didn't know, he has taped a few historical & great sounding recordings including the Amsterdam '97 show (click here for details) This particular recording is not an exception as it captures a different side of Tool than we in the United States see-live. At this gig, they are playing a Festival, are playing during the evening, it is not dark outside. For the people in the United States: imagine seeing Tool in 2002 without being shrouded in darkness, their visual show, the protection of lights and to simply be (sort of) like another band on a bill for an Ozzfest date. I think you need to take factors like what the environment is of the show itself when examining a show. Interesting setlist backed with an equally interesting, dare I say, intense performance by the band. Very nice. Maynardism: "Thank you John, from System Of A Down, for joining us. Thank you very much for sharing this moment with all of us. Hopefully, over the course of today, the musicians that you've heard/have witnessed, in some way inspired you or helped you heal in some way. Thank you for sharing this moment with us. Ozzy is up next" |
