Tech Note01.15.79 Grateful Dead Springfield Civic Center Springfield, MA January 15, 1979 Nakamichi 300's w/Cardoid Capsules > Master Audience Cassette > Sony TC158 Played back on a Nak DR1 > Sony PCMR500 DAT with SBM ON @ 48KHz > (done by Rango Keshavan) Soundforge > CDR (done by Jim Wise) > EAC > SHN Recorded by Steve Rolfe, Section 61 (Front Middle), Row S, Seat 7. ($8.50 Admission). One mic was pointed at the PA (left or right) and the other at the drums. Rango Keshavan took his master tapes and put them onto DAT. Jim Wise took those DAT's and ran a 10dB noise reduction and gave the bass a boost @ 125Hz. He then sent a CD set to Rango, who did the EAC and converted them to SHNs. Mastered to CD using a Tascam DA302 > HHB 850 Disc 1 Set 1: 1. tuning 2. Jack Straw 3. Jack A Roe 4. Cassidy 5. Row Jimmy 6. Mama Tried > Mexicali Blues 7. Stagger Lee 8. Passenger 9.
