| Note | Set 1: I missed the Thin Air (Smells Like Mississippi), Dyin' Man, Rebirtha becasue Anu and I arrvied late into the city and could not find cheap parking. I had her drop me off and ran in during Second Skin, which I really like. It's got a killer Schools solo at the end. Most folks said the first 3 songs were kinda rough.
The Monstrosity, Stop-Go, Give, Makes Sense To Me were all killer tunes. GMAC has it going, Jojo was playing really well, Schools is smoking and JB sounds wonderful. I swore they were going into setbreak and I thought Schools took off his bass, and then I went out to grab a beer. When I was in line, I was like , why the hell are they playing WSP's Ain't Life Grand during setbreak?? I ran back in and caught most of it, and it was good, but not an amazing jam or anything. Setbreak...met tons of cool folks as I was a lone wanderer at the show. Set 2:JB came out alone and told the crowd that he was nervous! He then did an acoustic Longer Look, Fishing and then GMAC came out and they started into Space Wrangler which may have begun acoustic, and then slowy everyone came out and they went full electric, and the party started. Papa Johnny Road, Pleas > Jack, Travelin' Light, Barstools and Dreamers, Blight, I Walk On Guilded Splinters > Henry Parsons Died This combo just never quit. The Papa Johnny is one of my favorite new tunes, and the Pleas>Jack was so stellar. THEN the Travelin' Light, Barstools and Dreamers, Blight, I Walk On Guilded Splinters > Henry Parsons Died was just amazing. I love how the WSP does Splinters out of Blight and into Henrey...just killer. Encores: a very solid This Part Of Town and the Love Tractor really got the crowd going and ready for the next night. |
