Note | AVEAT EMPTOR: This is an excellent SBD recording, however excepting where the band jam into songs,
the between song crowd has been heavily edited and faded out so those aren't TAO errors you're hearing it's just the way the show has been edited. The first set has been restored in the DeadWeeds Lab to its complete length to fit on Disc 1 as there was an incredibly stupid cut after Deal resulting in Disc 2 starting with the excellent Playing/Wheel/Playing triptych (followed by Bobby announcing the end of the first set) which is one of the highlights of this fantastic show. When the Dead produce jams like this in the first set you know they're smoking! This show sees the debut performance of Terrapin and Estimated Prophet and by opening the gig with a new song on the scale of Terrapin the band make their intentions clear: there ain't NOTHING like a Grateful Dead concert! This is a vintage show from a vintage year. Enjoy! |
