| Note | Notes: This is the audio portion of the Muse - Glastonbury 2004 DVD (NTSC version). I'm seeding it for the Muse fans who did not have the bandwidth or hard drive space to download the either the PAL version or the audio-sync corrected NTSC conversion.
IMPORTANT NOTE: As the lineage above indicates, this show is technically NOT LOSSLESS (it is sourced from a DVD of a digital satellite broadcast). However, it is essentially the same audio that is present on the DVD, except that it has been converted from MP2 to WAV and then to FLAC (neither of which involves a lossy step). The only aspect of the original audio that was changed was to resample it from 48khz to 44.1khz to make it compatible with the audio CD format. I want to make it clear that the audio is NOT MP3 sourced, but from the audio portion of an MPEG2 stream. This is the standard compression codec used for encoding DVDs, and although it is lossy, the the quality is significantly higher than MP3 (the audio of most commercial DVDs use a similar compression). The DVD audio was extracted to WAV and resampled to 44.1khz to make it audio CD compatible using DVD Audio Extractor 2.2.1. The volume was then normalized in Cool Edit Pro, and the following edits were performed: |
