| Note | National Public Radio "Creators At Carnegie" broadcast with commentary. The interview and version of Berlin's "Always" is repeated twice at the disc's beginning. Veloso, as his usual, is fantastic. He covers a bunch of songs in English here, Berlin, Gershwin, Hart & Rogers, even Kurt Cobain/Nirvana's "Come As You Are". I prefer his Portuese songs to the traditional jazz tunes and other songs in English, but this is still worth having. I also have the next night's show of Veloso/Byrne (4/17/04) to make a full two CD set. |
