| Note | This is a strange one......Sonny had an idea in the early 80's to marry a doo-wop group, a harlem jump-band, and a jazz quintet. (he spent time as a teenager singing in local R&B bands). He even suggested that he could get Peter Brotzman to play tenor sax rolling around on his back while teenage girls screamed!
He work-shopped the concept at annual benefit concerts at a community center in Peekskill NY, but couldn't get any interest from labels or promoters till this concert which took place on Sonny's birthday in 1990. No, he didn't get Brotzman, but he did pull it off.....as you'll hear, the audience loved it.
