Track 02-13 - 1988-09-25 - Athens Music Festival, Athens, GA, USA (Stipe & Indigo Girls) Track 14-16 - 1990-06-03 - Big Day Festival, Glasgow, Scotland (Stipe, Natalie Merchant and Billy Bragg) This is actually not a real R.E.M. show, but a benefit concert with Michael Stipe and Indigo Girls (Amy Ray and Emily Saliers). Together they play some interesting cover versions along with a few originals. These include brilliant early versions of R.E.M.'s own "hairshirt" and "11th Untitled Song" which a few month later were to be released on the Green LP. The song "I'll Give You My Skin" was written by Michael, Amy and Emily especially for this performance. The 3 last tracks are Michael Stipe together with Natalie Merchant and Billy Bragg at the Big Day Festival in Glasgow; Scotland. |
