Note
Notes: Great show, with a very nervous Michael Stipe telling funny stories between songs. The sound was great, which is unusual for an "opening act" (not that R.E.M. is an opening act in the traditional sense).
Bruce Springsteen guested on the last two songs of the set, playing lead guitar and adding backup vocals to "Bad Day" (the last 45-second guitar solo is Bruce) and trading lead vocals on "Man on the Moon." (Note: The introduction and last two tracks also appear on the Springsteen set that is being torrented. Same source.)

Stipe completely screwed up "Man on the Moon," singing the refrain where he should have done the third verse. He stopped and exclaimed (a little embarassed), "I fucked up!" and walked away from the mike to compose himself; Springsteen burst out laughing, hugged Stipe, and went to the vacant mike and laughed, "I'm glad i'm not the only one who fucks up!"

This was recorded about halfway back on the floor, in line with the right speaker stack. I stood further back than I normally would in order to catch the full sound from the overhead monitor. There is minor crowd noise - there weren't very many people close to me.
