You can split this up a number of ways, but this is just the way I had it. Every CD can fit on 74 minute CDRs. Some hiss, but the sound is very nice overall. Standouts include TLEO, Mystery Train, Melody, Knockin?, and Don?t Let Go. Sick, sick show, from one of Jerry?s best years. jgb1977-12-08d1 - Track01.flac:11d8bbd2f005ab1aef28234ba03543c7 jgb1977-12-08d1 - Track02.flac:a28d080b4aaa1221f697d3ec1b100420 jgb1977-12-08d1 - Track03.flac:6f66a01d0a998c7f72d7bb0fb40e8e8e jgb1977-12-08d1 - Track04.flac:d9d95d702a1e29de5617365a07795a68 jgb1977-12-08d1 - Track05.flac:73739328873f28745eb94a61b2ac7421 jgb1977-12-08d2 - Track01.flac:e6ad6f0f8cc346398d9e1ab63c07092d jgb1977-12-08d2 - Track02.flac:fa70df9ee0f649229e54a687000f7c55 jgb1977-12-08d2 - Track03.flac:d33913212ec635cb456f512a8d82bb3a jgb1977-12-08d2 - Track04.flac:67a8dbbaece540916aa7c5dd744827b2 jgb1977-12-08d2 - Track05.flac:205827d31188a7e4f067fa28b6ba5ab6 jgb1977-12-08d3 - Track01.flac:a4e240a539d90dd08155a4deb43487f0 Enjoy! John Kahn must be rolling over in his grave - lol! :-{ this looks like a good one - thanks! Zeb sirwalter 2004-07-24 09:35:35 >>the source without the disc extraction is never automatically the better source. you have to listen. the previous circulated source was rendered lossy by NR. im confused then. if the charlie miller version circulates without the eac>flac why wouldnt that be better? http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=20680 neo_levo 2004-07-24 15:53:07 EAC just means someone used a program to rip it from CDR. thats it. it doesn't imply that the sound quality is inferior. the only way to actually figure out which source is better is to listen to both carefully. if someone EAC'd a source that was transferred to CDR originally using better equipment and possibly even a cleaner source, i would prefer that over something where someone used Soundblaster live or extigy to transfer a DAT without any EAC in the generation. proof is in the pudding and how the source sounds. this source is clearly superior without the noise reduction present in the other source. neo_levo 2004-07-24 15:55:24 > im confused then. if the charlie miller version circulates >without the eac>flac why wouldnt that be better? > http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=20680 Charlie's source is the source with the EAC in the generation. Jon Seff's source is the one without the EAC directly transferred and postprocessed- http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=4445 neo_levo 2004-07-24 16:04:55 man am i confused. so this set of files adds an extra gen of EAC (which may have no effect on the sound as long as its done right) and circ'd them as FLAC. these shouldn't be linked to the original SHN md5s though listed with charlie's files but treated as a new db entry. absolute technical purists will insist that this is an inferior source because of the unnecessary EAC. terrapincane 2004-07-24 16:35:16 I've got the LOGs, and i also made a few copies of EAC>FLAC>WAV so I could see if I heard any differences... the original CDs I made from the SHNs and the new WAV files sound identical.... if you want, I could even do a sort of "re-EAC" and see how those WAVs would sound Add a comment
