Comment | Although Jimi Hendrix's touring band name changed during the summer of 1969, the festival MC, Chip Monck, introduced the group as the Jimi Hendrix Experience, but from the stage Hendrix stated: "We decided to change the whole thing around and call it Gypsy Sun and Rainbows. For short, it's nothin' but a Band of Gypsys." Hendrix began formally using the name "Band of Gypsy's" shortly thereafter, and this performance is filed under Band of Gypsy's at db.etree.org.
