Irish rock group U2 are the subject of a one-hour primetime special, "U2: A Year in Pop," which will air Saturday, April 26 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network. The documentary airs one day after the start of U2's 14-month, 100-city international "PopMart" tour at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium and will contain performance footage from that show. Bono, The Edge "U2: A Year in Pop" will also include a "history-mix" of footage and music that encompasses the band's career to date, behind-the-scenes film of the making of U2's new album POP, and preparations for the massive PopMart stadium tour--complete with a sci-fi disco supermarket setting. The hour culminates with a portion of U2's opening night performance. |
