NoteNot many folks know about this band as they never recorded an album. This was the brainchild of Ex-Brand X bassist Percy Jones when he moved to NYC in the early 80's. Percy had been playing with various NYC bands like Elliot Sharp's Moving Information and Noise R Us when he started Stonetiger in 1982. The original Drummer was Mike Clark, replaced by Lounge Lizard Dougie Bowne in 83. Keyboardist Anton Sanko was added in 1984 shortly before they called it quits due to Frisell's increasingly busy career.

Recorded by me with a Sony TCS-310 and Sony condenser, so the sound is clear if somewhat tinny. The Other End show is complete, the On Broadway show is the second set of the evening minus the first tune which I missed due to dead batteries. I've included both shows here as the first nights performance is a bit hesitant while the 2nd is rip-roaring, with Frisell squeezing out some of the sickest guitar sounds these ears have ever heard. The tunes this band played were eventually reworked by Percy on his solo albums, anyone who knows the unknown titles is welcome to provide a better setlist.

This is the band where Frisell first started cranking it up and taking it out, of course he's now retreated to more mellow fare, but at least artifacts like this still remain. If you like Bill's playing in Naked City, you'll dig this, and it's essential for any fan of Percy Jones amazing fretless bass playing. Enjoy!
