Note | The complete, unedited show of one the classic, most intense Tool gigs of all time.
The recording equip was a bit primitive and the speed on the source tape runs slightly slow, but once you get into this thing, it doesn't matter. Tool always plays London so well. The ebb and flow of Tool and the audience here was tremendous. You need to see the video to understand. It is what Tool was in the Undertow period. This is the kind of ritual atmosphere (aggressive, yet cathartic and healing) they created in concert during that period, - different from the Aenima and Lateralus era shows. The highlights are too numerous. Bottom? - Does it get much more intense than that? This is still my favorite reading of No Quarter they've ever performed. Tech Notes: 1) This was slightly remastered by the taper (Duncan) before he sent it to me. This included fixing glitches in 4 degrees and No Quarter that were present in previously circulating copies. 2) The speed on this copy runs slightly slow (due to the ANA source tape). 3) The show was mastered with track inconsistencies in between the first couple of songs. |
