Note | In a word: breathtaking.
Tool comes to France for the first time in 3 years and delivers a sensitve, moving performance. The same can be said for the recording: one of most outstanding of all Tool audience tapes. The songs have a light, receptive, almost vulnerable feel to their performance. By the second Spring leg of this tour, the band had now become comfortable enough with the material to really lay back, decrease the tempo, and increase the dynamics and subtelty. The recording captures this effect perfectly with a warm sound, and incredible band-isolation, keeping the crowd to a distant roar in the background. |
