NoteWow. This is Tool at it's greatest.
A performance so full of energy, confidence, and belief in their music you will -feel- it through your
speakers. 'Third Eye' is transcendent. It is preceded by a 6 minute improv jam (possibly the best I've ever heard from them) that brings their performance and energy level to a feverish, hypnotic state, and stays that way throughout the song. Every song is performed as if it were the last time they were playing it.
This is easily one of my Top 3 favorite Tool recordings.
The recording itself is very Loud. There is some distortion at times. Danny is up too much in the mix, Justin too low (however that's typical of most of the Lolla shows), but overall the sound is good.
And I actually like the echoey sound of these outdoor Lolla Ampitheatre shows (particularly this one); something about it that gives you that goosebump full, sprawling, standing on-top-of-a-mountain feeling.
