| Note | Portland really caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting much from the last shows of the '01 tour. Everyone else was playing great, but Maynard's voice sounded shot.
And this show starts off similar to this trend. However, as the night progresses, MJs voice warms up and improves each song. By the middle of this gig, his voice is in one of the most fine, controlled states I've heard all tour. You can -feel- his concentration level in the singing. The Pushit is extraordinary. - The band is together in every sense on this song; the musicality is tremendous; this one nearly made me weep. |
