Note | Well, this may be about as good as you are going to hear an MD sound. The stunning clarity of a DAT, while really catching the ambience of the hall. Duncan's sound is one my favorite among Tool tapers.
It even picks up on this odd, haunting howl in the background of "It's calling me" during Reflection. At first I thought it was was an audience member screaming, but it happens on all 4 repetitions in the same place ... Danny, by the way, goes nuts on the solo in Reflection ... Very nice setlist. They're mixing it up, '97 - '98 style, in their 2 nights at the Brixton. Tonight we get Ticks, 4 degrees, and the elusive and venerable Jimmy - with an improv'd beginning that Maynard doesn't quite catch onto and comes into early, stops, then finds his way. Even though I'm not a big fan of this song, Ticks and Leeches might just be the highlight. This is a must-have 2002 show. |
