Comment | A departure from the brassy, electric dance rhythms that characterise his work with Rokoto, the album features interpretations of classic palm wine guitar music. Named after the cheap booze produced from the fermented sap of the palm tree, palm wine music is a light, straightforward folk style which can be heard in bars and on street corners right across Anglophone West Africa (Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia all have their own local variations).
