| Tech Note | fixed block boundary problems on all tracks. range-hood This was the first show I ever stealthed, in fact I was really just checking out my stealthing rig and never intended to release the recordings made on that day. However, Peter Sarstedt's set was just so good and the sound quality is really nice so here we are. Unfortunately the first 2 tracks are missing due to a total cock-up on my part, as is the first few seconds of the first track included here (third of the show). Other than fading in the first track and fading out the last, this recording is totally as recorded on the day - no remastering ! The gig was open air and it was a windy day, but very little wind noise is heard and in general I would rate this recording 'A minus' - really only dragged down by a slightly chatty audience. The quality improves somewhat as I re-positioned my self closer to the speakers. Peter played a wonderfull solo set that quite obviously came straight from the heart - one man and his guitar in the traditional sense (not the mtv unplugged sense !) weaving spine tingling magic on a warm summer's eve, while the tide came in behind us. I felt and still feel truely privilaged to have been present for this show - it really was very special. Recording was digital, as was the transfer - these are the master shn's (of course, since this show has never been distributed before). Enjoy the show - Octave Doktor (taper) |
