J-Card Comment Oh to be living in the Bay Area in 1975. Any given week you would have to work pretty hard not to find Jerry playing somewhere nearby. Berkeley, of course, was no exception. Jerry played at Keystone in many different line-ups, including the classic "Live at Keystone" albums. May 21 found Garcia with Legion of Mary, the 1975 incarnation of Jerry's band with sidekick John Kahn on bass, Merl Saunders on organ and vocals, Martin Fierro on sax and flute, and Ron Tutt on drums. Essentially the same line-up as the "Keystone" albums, but with Fierro on horns and Ron Tutt replacing Bill Vitt on drums. Legion of Mary tear through some classic covers which over the years would become JGB staples, like "That's What Love Will Make You Do", "Harder They Come," and "How Sweet It Is." Tonight they also spice things up with some contemporary covers like Dylan's "Tough Mama" and Stevie Wonder's "Creepin'".
