This topic generates large amounts of
message traffic on Deadlists. Briefly,
the "Wall of Sound" was a fundamentally
different type of sound system where each
musician adjusted the levels of their own
instruments. Owsley Stanley (Bear) claims
that there can be no soundboard recordings
because there wasn't a soundboard.

During these "retirement" concerts there
were apparently many recordings made, some
of which were released as "Steal Your Face".
There is a rumor that this recording is a
copy of a rough mix cassette made for SYF
provided to the taping community by Jerry
Wexler's son or nephew (or something like
that), along with 10.18.74 and 10.20.74.
