| J-Card Comment | Magnificent 9-CD box set containing 162 performances of 138 songs performed throughout the course of the NET 1988-2000....all cover versions. 24 of the tracks are given double treatment as the difference in arrangements or a radical reinterpretation of the same cover song warranted it. Lavish presentation includes 24k gold plated "audiophile-style" disks, black w/gold printed songs on each, picture sleeves for each disk and then each housed inside a heavy duty color mini-LP jacket. The two accompanying booklets include a 72-page curio full of music & lyrics plus a 28 pager with exhaustive source notes, complete original recording history and more. The complete tracklist is below, with each disk arranged "conceptually" according to a loosely defined "genre." Well over 10 hours of terrific listening with a tracklist of songs that runs through every type music imaginable.....quite amazing if you think about it. An amazing compilation that begs for repeated listening.....and an archival package, to boot. |
