May 1970 to Aug 22 1970 Unfinished Electric Lady Studios, NY (officially opened Aug 27 1970) Jimi Hendrix, Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell (Reformed Experience) Eddie Kramer (sound engineer) GUEST MUSICIANS: Ken Weaver (guitar), Stephen Stills (piano), Paul Caruso (harmonica), Juma Sutan (bongos). Jimi spent many hours with band members recording countless hours of material prior to the Electric Lady Studios official opening. Some session material recorded here later used on The Cry Of Love, which was completed by Eddie Kramer and Mitch Mitchell in 1971 after Hendrix?s death on the 18th Sept 1970 aged almost 28.Other material from these sessions also appeared later on First Rays of the New Rising Sun and finally South Saturn Delta, which found a place for some of Jimi's uncomplete work, some stuff previously unavailable after Cry Of Love, Rainbow Bridge, and War Heroes were deleted from Hendrix catalogues. |
