- According to this site, the soundcheck and show was recorded by Abe Jacob for Wally Heider Recordings. There are also 2 known AUD recordings of very good quality. All tracks except for D1T10, D1T11, and D2T06 are from the SBD source. D1T10 and D1T11 are from an AUD source of unknown lineage and are excellent. - D2T06 is interesting as this track was not known to have been recorded through the SBD and only an AUD recording is known to exist. However, this track appears on the out-of-print release "The Jimi Hendrix Concerts". The track on this disc may very well be a copy of this track. Banter from the AUD source has been added to the end of the track and there is approximately 25 seconds of overlap between D2T06 and D2T07. - These recordings are clean considering their age and unknown lineage, though there are occasional warts. Different versions of the SBD source are used to compile this source and it is especially noticable between D2T01 and D2T02 and D2T09 and D2T10-12. This is probably a Liberated Bootleg. How it was copied and its lineage as a Liberated Bootleg is unknown. I received these as audios in a trade, I EAC>SHNed for my own archives. - There is also a video release called: Jimi Plays Berkeley (Warner Reprise & Douglas Video - 38223-3). It is 60 min. and features great footage of 9 tracks culled from the two shows. It is great and I recommend it! |
