| Note | More great presence here from the cardioid mic. I feel like I'm there soaking up LIVE Tool when listening to
the CSC. It's spralling, meaty, fucking manly Tool. Other mics (sankens, DPA, etc.), while obtaining incredible isolation & warmth, I feel like I'm in my fucking living room listening to the album. This recording is all over both Danny's drums and MJ's voice, with the guitars mixed in nicely. Sounds very nice, if you like this type of feel. There is some high-end distortion though. The performance is super high energy and inspired. They haven't come down from Madison Square Garden yet (and wouldn't much at all the rest of October). Maynard's voice is soaring throughout. Listen to the toms on the opening Grudge! |
