Andrew's lesson of the week -"Don't play djun djun's the night before a show." Apparently he went nuts with a friend of his and destroyed his right hand on Thursday. I challenge anyone to find a spot where he sounds bad, despite his claims that his hand went soft.
Acoma (my name, see also "Man Up") is Brad on nylon, and Andrew playing this soft cedar flute. Reminds me of the southwest, hance the name. "Kurdistan"( also my name) reminded me of Garcia/Grisman's "Arabia". But that name was taken. And I'm a little worried about what's to come of the Kurds, what with Dubya bombing South of them and the Turks wanting to kill them from the North. Both are excellent tunes, Brad is fairly amazing with a guitar, and Andrew shows real skill as a melodic player.
Back in Fifteen Minutes is a great vocal tune. I'm so glad Brad keeps writing songs. His delivery is so honest, it makes it hard not to feel like he's singing to me, or even for me. That's my name, for it, by the way, not his.

The room felt pretty empty all night, and the crowd never really came on altogether, but the smokers stayed at the bar, which was nice, and we all got to enjoy some great music.
