NoteBen Kaufman says something during track 5 which really sums a lot of why I love YMSB up so well.

"We had this idea, from the beginning, that we wanted to do this music on our own terms, and play on our own terms. And you know the minute you sign to a label or something, you lose a tremendous amount of control over maybe not necessarily WHAT you do, but how long it is and what it has to sound like. So you start to... you know you have to tailor your creativity towards that thing. And because we've got our own label and we sell it all ourselves and we're starting from the ground up, we get to do things exactly like we want to do it. And it really makes all the difference I think."
