Notes:
"Well, 34 years ago, at this very time (which was also a Friday), I
was about 5 feet from Jimi- right at the stage in Winterland, smack
in front of him. My buddy Evan was there right next to me, with his
recorder rolling. I got a copy of it from him last year, which
Richard M was good enough to digitize using the facilities at San
Jose State.
A few quirks about this one- it is incomplete and out of order.
Evan recorded it on his portable reel-to-reel at 7 1/2 IPS, and when
he got it home dubbed at 15 IPS and recycled the master. He swore
he wouldn't have done an edit like this, but the box is labelled in
his writing with this setlist:
No Red House or Foxy Lady(s) on this one, but it is the best
available SSB -> Purple Haze. Vocals are crisp & clear (thru the
monitors), bass & drums are solid, guitar is perfect. This is a
great sounding audience tape, and one all you completists will need."
