September 22, 2001 McCullough Social Space, Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT SOURCE: Neumann TLM170 (on-stage, 3.5' high, between Kraz & Neal, subcardioid) -> Lunatec V2 -> Tascam DA-P1 @ 48Khz CONVERSION: Fostex D-5 -> CardDeluxe (S/PDIF) -> CD Wave -> SoundForge 5.0 (EQ, compression, resampled to 44.1KHz, MiniDisc splice*) -> CD Wave -> WAV -> SHN Taped, transferred and encoded by Steve Gatzos *I was anticipating a 90-minute set and only had a 2-hour tape in my deck. I hit pause just before the tape ran out and let 2nd person in the chain (DA-P1) continue on. A few minutes later I popped in a fresh blank right before the encore. I was hoping to grab the 5-minutes I lost from the other guy's tape, but it would not play in every DAT deck I tried except for Eric McRoberts' Sony R500 which has excellent error correction. It wasn't enough as the audio exhibited tons of distortion and digi-noise. However, many thanks to Andrew Zrike for sending me his MiniDisc source (Sharp MD-MS722 patched via RCA). The last 5-minutes of TIO are spliced from the MD source (crossfaded punch-in so it's seamless and EQed to compensate for the audible sonic discrepancy). DISC ONE [70:00] 1. Intro 2. Cash's Dream 3. Right On 4. Flurries 5. Cannonball 6. Nay-Nay 7. Hurry Up...And Wait DISC TWO [63:06] 1. Jesus Children 2. Steppin' 3. Lenny# -> 4. Turn it Out Encore: 5.
