Tech Note | Recorded for the David Jensen Show on BBC Radio One.
Jensen was an early proponent of U2 and I remember him playing their material frequently at this time.
This features the only alternative version of Scarlet that I am aware of.
The recording of the track "Boy-Girl" may be as a farewell to the track on the band?s part as it was by this point no longer a part of U2 live sets.
Source Info
This is from a 3rd generation or above recording of the session. I hope that someone can one day come up with a better version.
A little hiss was removed and I tampered with the AM radio distortion on track 3. Other than that, the tracks are in the form in which I found them.
All weekday, pre-midnight BBC Radio One broadcasts were on AM (frequency 275/285)until the mid eighties.
The Jensen show went out between 20:00 and 22:00. The recording may well, therefore have been mastered for mono broadcasting so I have not tampered with that.
The use of right and left channels is only to enable SHN encoding. Both channels are the same.
