Can't Help Falling In Love Source : August 28,1993. Dublin, Ireland. Royal Dublin Society Showgrounds. Sound Quality : Excellent broadcast. Sound and Performance Ratings: Overall Sound: 10.0 Crispness: 8.0 Alive: 10.0 Ambience: 10.0 Performance: 10.0 Artificial: 0.0 Comments: Even better than the official live albums! Recorded live from the mixing desk, it's the best bootleg (including HAPPY NEW YEAR) I've ever heard. The sound is more than perfect ! The package has superb photos. Some errors occur on the titles, such as: "Bullet" for "Bullet The Blue Sky" and "Help Me" for The Beatles' "Help". The version of "Stay" is very very good (in my opinion) and "Numb" is played like the Industrial Mix on the 3-track video cassette single for "Numb." The August 28, 1993 Dublin bootleg has long been considered perhaps the greatest bootleg ever, and most of the reviewers say ZOO EUROPA is the best. The ending of "Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World" has Bono saying simply "I Will," instead of the "Dublin City says I will," on other bootlegs such as Live Storm's ZOOROPA `93 -RDS , DUBLIN 1993. Obviously, KTS has found a way to edit it out so it misses a beat or the ending seems a little bit abrupt. The long wait while the band is walking to the b-stage after this song and to "Angel Of Harlem" is edited too, because it seems that the two songs were played right after the other (which they were not). This bootleg is also edited from "Pride (In The Name Of Love)" to "Desire". The Zoo confessions and the TV images and interference right before "Desire" is edited (as compared to the unedited ZOOROPA `93). So all you hear is the crowd after from "Pride (In The Name Of Love)" and then "Desire" kicks straight in. After "Cant Help Falling In Love," Bono says goodnight and the bootleg fades out. In other pressings such as ZOOROPA `93, you can still hear the Elvis version of the song from the PA while Bono says "Elvis is still in the building," and then it fades out. From the looks of it, this CD has obviously been remastered as seen from the edits which have actually been quite professionally done (that is why no one has pointed this out, maybe because they never noticed it or that they only have one Dublin bootleg, thus no other basis of comparison. After all, who would be crazy enough to buy different pressings of the same show?). Thus, this may be the best sounding in terms of sound quality among all the Dublin pressings. Taken from the worldwide broadcast, this is a great homecoming performance. The band have even incorporated a few 'Zooropa' songs here too. It's nicely edited and an enjoyable listen. Every bootleg should look and sound this good! Again, they go through a large chink of 'Achtung Baby' material before going into "New Year's Day." The fairly-new "Numb" is played next. The acoustic set also features another new song, "Stay (Faraway So Close!)," along with crowd-pleasers "Angel Of Harlem" and "When Love Comes To Town." "Satellite Of Love" features a pre-recorded vocal of Lou Reed. "Bad" opens the second disc and includes a snippet of Elton John's "Candle In The Wind," and ends with a snippet of another new song, "The First Time." A short version of The Beatles "Help" launches into "Ultraviolet (Light My Way)." "Desire includes Bono's Mac Phisto character's call to the United Nations, which is actually a pre-recorded bit from Adam. The show concludes with Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love" with nice crowd participation. A nice release. It's also out on quite a few other labels under different titles. Collectors and even casual fans should enjoy it. The cover states "Live On Tour 1993." This comes with a nice 12-page fold-out with lots of photos and a short "Professor Stone" essay. Both CDs are picture discs. This is the original pressing on this label.
