Comments:  Multianalog generation SBD recording with a moderate amount of hiss.  Some hiss and phasing most noticeable on quieter songs.  If this really bothers you, pretend that the tape you are listening to spent 4 years sliding around the dashboard of Jerry's BMW as he cruised around Marin, soaking up all the UV radiation and heat, maybe he even dropped it on the floor where some Jerry dirt/Garcia fuzz got on it before some enterprising and blessed thief pilfered it for us to listen to.  Its sounding a whole lot better, right? 

*** The two tracks from the first set can be burnt with the first set from 2/3/90 for a 79 minute disc.

Comments:
Brian Wilson Defense Committee benefit

This show has long circulated in two versions, one with the first 7 tracks and another which includes "Get Together" and "Dekalb Blues"  I question whether the latter two tracks are from the same show, to me they seem to be from a different source and the mix different.  Also I don't hear any evidence of Garcia playing on these tracks.

This tape has, in addition to the previously thought "complete show", an instrumental track.  Garcia doesn't feature on that either.  Maybe two sets were played, and Garcia only played the first set, but that doesn't really explain the different mix.  For now I'll go with my two set theory but I'm not totally convinced that is right.  Gravenites says before "Down In The Bottom",  "We're gonna do one more quick number and get off here"

As can be heard there was at least one more song played after what is on this tape, as it ends with tuning in preparation for that song.

If anyone has any thoughts on this I'd be glad to hear them.
