Derek Trucks Band The Palace Theater Waterbury CT This was an excellent show, the third of the DTB's Winter tour. The Palace Theater in Waterbury is one of those beautifully restored movie theaters with fantastic acoustics. An enthusiastic and mostly respectful crowd was treated to a great show, which included several cuts from the new release "Already Free", along with plenty of good DTB staples. Derek and bassist Todd Smallie must have been listening to Hendrix just before the show- check the sample from Get Out My Life. Kudos to sound engineer Marty Wall for the near perfect mix for those of us seated up front, making this an A+ recording of an A+ show (IMHO). All I had to do is turn on the Edirol and let it roll. I would be grateful for someone who could help me upload this to the LMA (Live Music Archive) or who would be kind enough to do the upload, so that those who live outside the world of DIME can experience this performance.
