   Disc 1:
The night of the groove, the mix. A perfect SBD except for the cut
in Sometimes. Check out that 1st set. And buried in nearly every song,
Radio throws down the freestyles. First there's a tribute to George
Harrison and the New Year with Here Comes the Sun, then that 15 min.
mix of songs with the rarely performed Ganga Babe and FFTM. Followed by
a crispy Oh My God that flows from the heart, like it does every time
they play it, but tonight it's awesome. Then into a 12 min Stay Human,
and you know when it's long like that, there's gonna be a solo. It's one
of those tight old Satchmo mixes. Dave cleans house on ESS first, during
his solo, playing like how the Allman Brothers's songs from the Fillmore
in the early 70's have that sound. Then it's good ol' Carl's turn. Kevin
joins in, and it just jams along through these 'No matter where I roam'
choruses with the boys singing 'Everything is beautiful' in the background.
If that wasn't enough, it gets better with Feeling Free, in one of those
classic 60s & 70s, mom & pop picnic type of squeaky clean reggae vibes.
If you don't blow a speaker on this tune, you might want to give away
your stereo. Listen closely to the working speaker for Dave doin' the
wah wah to Michael's lyrics, holy smokes. I retracked disc 1 to end
with the Bomb The World acoustic.

   Disc 2:
I moved Bomb the dub over to begin disc 2. The original source shns
had both Bombs on the first disc, which made for a rough cut, because
Bomb > What Happens Next. I left overlap for future archiving to dvd.
The dub version is upbeat and has that great Radio intro, "gotta be
the bomb, gets the last word." The whole song is peppered with Radio
in the mix and Mannas just busting the drums with a bunch of World Beat
rhythms. At nearly 10 minutes, d2 gets a great start. The WHN they
play is real jazzy, with a piano solo over the salsa beats of Mannas
and Radio. It doesn't have any of sharp edges, almost Santana-like at
points when Dave takes a turn on the guitar. Michael sings out the
Soulshine, and it gets a great start from him. Radio steps up and adds
to what Michael did with a classic solo to fill out the rest of the song.
That's the set closer. 4 encores, too. The Sherri & Leon freestyle duet
in Love Will Set Me Free is funny. The mix on Sometimes is fantastic,
unleashing some great keyboards, guitar, and backup vocals. There's this
hot duet between Carl and Dave that's really going when there comes a cut
at 5:26 for a few seconds, but it jumps right back into a section with
Radio beatboxing the pan flute. Michael opens it up a little later for
solos, and a woman from the audience takes a turn, along with Josh
on the ones and twos. And after it's all over there's about 3 min.
of thank yous. This is surely one of their best shows.
