Notes:
Whether or not to seed this show was a serious debate for me. I heard friends go both ways. Normally I am a purist and I would be the first to note the countless flaws in this recording. Obviously it is a partial set I, the beginning of the set suffers from some clipping, and I lack complete source info. The single reason I have decided to put this out there is I believe when there are no other recordings the "something is better than nothing" philosophy prevails. I will try to explain why we end up this final result though. It is a combination of fate, a lack of experience using the gear, and my own stupidity.

I knew in advance of the show that Pete Townshend and his wife were playing a show that same night earlier in the evening. I arrived very early and caught a glimpse of Townshend through the foggy Martyr's window. He ran over by almost an hour. The band did not come on that night until 11:30. They started letting people in 11:15. When I got in I was told by management that Martyr's has a no mic-stand policy, in perspective it makes sense since I see so few recordings from there. To my surprise I was offered by the owner and house sound engineer a board patch, and then a table, and then they let me use my mic stand. They could not have been better about it which is why I feel mildly guilty about the recording turning out the way it did.

By the time all my gear was set up the show was five minutes in. The recorder was a digital multitrack that I borrowed from a friend and had no prior experience with and I didn't have a chance to get levels set properly. The second set was taped flawlessly, and it didn't save. My fault? Possibly. Blame my buddy Sean.

This is all there is that I know of. Two great nights of a great project that hopefully we haven't seen the last of. I have heard from people that the band recorded one or both nights. I do say that if anyone in tND reads this and you have anything to contribute, please do.
