Notes: I wanted to release this the week of the show but was asked to wait (not by the band). Supporting Murder by Death, I did AUD and someone else did SBD for Langhorne only.  I'll be doing AUD/SBD 7-14 for the headlining set.

Langhorne Slim's debut EP "The Electric Love Letter" showcases a ringside leadership usually reserved for someone twice his age. The production sounds like an old blues record that finds beauty in the ragged worn history of American culture. I don't know, maybe Slim was born under a bad sign like the ol tale suggests. Supposedly Slim is the bastard son of Hasil Adkins. I can just imagine Slim's estranged mother wrapping her boy up in baby blue sheets, placing him inside a hollow log and sending him down to ride the dark waters of the mighty New River of West Virginia. How Slim survived is murky at best. However, his humorous story telling provides some insight into the life of a lovin', travellin' blues man. Much like Daddy(?) and at times Rolling Stones circa "Exile On Main Street," Langhorne's one man road show relies on witty lyrics and a fucked up backwoods feel. Slim's stories are all that much more compelling due to the strength of his commanding voice. Slim sits a good three feet away from the microphone. His voice grabs a hold and sends the listener to wherever the story is flowing. At some moments he's all instinct and survival is of scientific selection. At other times instinct tugs Slim's mind till he manages to warp cheese into a sexual metaphor for his woman's sweet spot. However he decides to spin a tale Slim manages to always take the listener to a gut level good time where all instinctual desires are thoroughly fulfilled. Mmmmm...

Slim has toured the US extensively with the Trachtenberg Slideshow Family. Other highlights: Slim played the Bonaroo Music Festival sharing the stage with Neil Young, Sonic Youth and James Brown to name just a few. With an innate ability to engage with the audience Slim's live performances are legendary for unexpected mayhem. Langhorne Slim has been featured on comps, and has a self released CD-R.

Slim hails from the dark forests of Pennsylvania. Slim recently moved to Brooklyn, NY in order to perfect his already natural born gift of writing and recording music. Slim recently graduated SUNY Purchase.
