This 8 year old DAT played cleanly straight through on one play. Although recorded from the Mezz2 section, this recording is quite clear as a result of the huge stacks that fill the cavernous Hammerstein and reach up to the Mezz2 level, and the use of hypercardiod uni-directional microphones. As a result, this is less boomy recording than one made from the floor of this venue. Unfortunately, the sound system in the venue did hit "the ceiling" and there is some peak level distortion in the louder moments. This is not caused by the recording, as my levels were well below the maximum. Ultimately, I was surprised at how enjoyable this recording came out considering all the above. This show captures the fun and energy of BFF at its peak of creativity and popularity, and features a few rare nuggets. Enjoy! Total time 104:42 569 MB 01. Theme From Dr. Peyser 3:42 02.
