=======================================

Occasionally, I will receive an e-mail from a fellow Rainmakers fan telling me they have a tape that I don't include on my extensive list. In this case, the taper contacted me offering to send the master tape along for inclusion in the RMRP. What arrived was a very nice-sounding audience recording in a rather large auditorium. The acoustics are nice (none of that boominess so typical of analog recordings from this era) and the crowd very responsive. The Rainmakers put on a very energetic 10-song set, feeding off of the crowd. They were in the midst of a short tour of the Midwest and East Coast, opening for Kansas.

Aside from the analogue to digital transfer and a slight balancing of the left and right channels, very little was done to "tweak" the recording. What you hear is what was captured by the taper that night. There was a cut between "Big Fat Blonde" and "Information" (encore break?) but no music was missed.

The tape also included two "bonus tracks", recorded at Pittsburgh's Syria Mosque in November 1986. After some deliberation, I decided to hold these for later inclusion on a planned "Odds & Sods" release in the RMRP series (a set which will also include many of their radio station acoustic sets/interviews, the 1989 European tour encores, etc.).

I hope you enjoy the show!
