Rumor has it that a SBD patch was raffled off at this show. If you have more details, please email me at dan@am-dig.com Source Info Philler SBD Source: SBD> DAT > CDR AUD Source: Schoeps CMC641 > M2 > AD500 > P1 --------------------------------------------------------- Tech Notes SHNs were decoded to wave and SF 6.0 was used to reassemble the tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align & synch both of the sources. CEP2.0 used to adjust the volume for the center and LFE channels. Surcode CD Pro DTS was used to encode to DTS. -3db was NOT applied to the rear channels. Both of the sources for the front and rear channels were left at their original levels. - Mixed by dan@am-dig.com - Shn conversion done by dan@am-dig.com 14-JLY-2004 - Artwork by dan@am-dig.com 300dpi - For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper. The mix for the SBD source is rather unusual. Lots of Phil, dead center, "in your face". This mix becomes more natural as the show goes on. D1,T1 "Intro/Tuning Jam" is entirely from the AUD source. Switches to the SBD + AUD right before the start of track 2. D2 and D3 can be seamlessly put back together on longer media. Like a 90 minute CDR. Phil "donor rap" was missing on the AUD source. This was left off entirely. The crowd cheer btwn the last song and the encore was not entirely there. Crossfade preformed to keep things sounding smooth and natural. This mix also made for a very clear LFE/Sub channel. However, because of this heavy Phil mix I reduced the volume to -5db (usually -3db). With these DTS 5.1 mixes the listener should be ready to adjust the volume of the subwoofer anyway. Either on the Sub or using the settings on your digital receiver. The unusual SBD mix also had very unique left/right channel properties. These same characteristic were also noticeable in the AUD source which leads to the conclusion a stereo mix was played over the PA. I made sure to match SBD left channel to AUD left channel (and right to right) for both the DTS and the Matrix to keep the same stereo feel of this show. --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to de
