Crowd Noise [01:03] - You can remove D1T01 and D2T10 if you don't want the extra crowd noise Reviews from the black-cat mailing list: Submitted by Dave R I appear to have the following two effects on a Traveler show: 1)I drive away guests. 13 shows with a grand total of two guests, same show, NYE Pompano Beach I was graced with Rich Vink as a guest...oh and a couple of steel drummers for Conga. 2)If I'm at a show...so is the Suite. Since (and including) it's debut, I have heard this song five times at concerts. Including the last 3 I went to. I believe I'm actually tied with Millner on this one:) The sound sucked up until But Anyway, then it started getting better. The first part of the show was DEAD. It was the worst BAU I have heard in a LONG time, totally lacking energy...but once they picked up into Gotta Get Gloria Mean things were tight and it didn't die down. Highlight of the show was Jaberwocky. I love this song and it's SO much fun to sing along to, right Dave? Well, It's 3am, I'm home, but tired, so I'm going to bed...if nothing else, the show was worth the price of addmission;) Dave Who's jealous of all you who get to continue on to Milwaukee when I had to go home:( Submitted by Robin F Picked up a copy of Gigs at the merchandise table in Peoria last night. Setlist as played: Carolina>Business, But, Droppin>Crash>Droppin, Decisions>Low..., Gotta Get>Gloria>Mean, 100>Pain, Suite, Hook, Devil. E: Breakfast>Jabber>Bro Jo Setlist as written: Carolina>Business, But, Droppin>Crash>Droppin, Decisions, Gotta Get>Gloria>Mean, Alone, Suite, Hook, Stand, Breakfast>Bro Jo. E: Devil Pre-show: Bob was hanging out stage left as usual, Chan was stretching stage right. Like a pre-game warm-up, quads, hams, the works. The Business jam has to come together more, because once again I felt that each of the four guys was in a different place, on a different beat. I called the NYC segue right after Caro>Biz, so they threw in Butthead, I was close. This actually makes sense to start the show with a bunch of crowd favorites (not hits, favorites) because these particular songs build energy. Decision Of The Skies...hmmm. Hmmm. Well, I will give them props for writing a song in B flat, although that could be because the jam at the end (which I actually started to like) drops down to the VI, in this case G, which is perfect for tons of segues. Although there's a reason why they rarely end a segue with Low Rider. They don't have a real ending to the song. They basically just faded out, it was odd. GGM just tore it up. This song is vicious. The jam in Gloria is very cool, but the song drags for two minutes while John does his super-extended first verse. I was thinking they needed to speed the song up, but the tempo is perfect for jamming, it's just the verses which drag. 100>Pain, Suite was the best JP-on-guitar part of a show I've ever seen. This is old-school. And there were maybe ten people in the audience who had a clue what was going on during the Suite. Even the guys in the front on Chan's side, who were high-fiving him during Crash Burn, and clapping the entire show, didn't know what to do during the Suite. Hook - the crowd was almost as loud as JP from where I was standing. (More on that later.) I think Stand may have been written on almost every setlist this tour, but has been scratched from almost every set as well. Devil was cool as always, and the entire gym was bouncing as one. We were yelling for Fucked Run a few times, and thought we might get that as the encore, but Breakfast>Jabber>Bro Jo was awesome. They could have ended it with Breakfast and I would have been happy. Then Popper sees me, with my black bomber hat, about two- or three-deep in the crowd, looks down at a harp, tries to arc it to me, and it was pretty good aim too, except to get a harp to someone you need to throw it to their outstretched arm level directly above their head. He threw it right to my head, and it got swatted by about seven or eight people in front of me. The venue staff was also told they were not allowed to give out setlists after the show. So finally a crew guy handed Chan's setlist to some girl. And then they started letting college students break down the equipment. Peoria.... Met Brian with his "Bob Kicks Ass!" shirt, we somehow managed to have the two best spots in the house in spite of having tickets in the F and J sections. No outward monitors on stage, so we got everything straight from the amps. Really cool, and not too loud, except that John's harp and guitar dominated a little, making Brendan hard to hear at times. The crowd was great until they realized John throws out harps at the end. Overall, really fun show. Check out posts from Millner, Craig, and Brian when they get done this weekend, more tidbits to fill in here and there. - Robin join the blackcat mailing list at: http://www.theclerk.com/mailman/listinfo/blackcat for bt news, please visit: http://www.bluestraveler.net
